Rose Gold Shade with Floral Accents

This was my first attempt at painting a lampshade and adding decorative accents. I found the lampshade on Facebook marketplace as part of a trio for $5.00. My original design included a pretty black wine bottle which I modge-podged some glass chips to and added fairy lights inside. I ended up sticking with an empty Johnny Walker blue label bottle instead which I filled with pink and blue glass chips at the dollar store. The lamp kit was an Amazon order.

I was originally going to try watercolor for the shade, but I ended up going with acrylics – my comfort zone. I applied about 3 layers of paint and then stenciled the leaves, added some rhinestones and glass chips, and finished with flowers. This shade has two sides with accents. Now I have an addiction to painting lampshades.

Iridescent Peach Shade with Tassels

I found this shade for $2.00 at a local Goodwill store. I had found the awesome vintage bottle previously, added fairy lights, ordered the lamp kit from Amazon, and got to painting. This is acrylic matte paint with an iridescent top coat that picks up all the pretty colors of the beaded tassels.

I found the tassel trim at Joanne Fabrics. I used e600 to adhere it and some chip bag clips to help keep it in place while it dried. I added the beads to the tassels at the bottom and cut off the tassels of the top strip. I used an Edison bulb to keep with the vintage vibe. All in all, the bottle is the true star of the show on this one.

More to come…

Stay tuned!
